Welcome to our site!
The Cornerstones, based in Gambier, Ohio, are Kenyon College's only Christian a cappella group. Since organizing in 1998, we have supplied the campus with contemporary, classical, gospel, and Christian-inspired pop songs on a bi-yearly basis. In addition, we have participated in several tours across various parts of the nation, and have performed at numerous churches and events around the Ohio area.

HISTORY____
When Pat Schneider arrived in the fall of 1997, he felt the musical situation at Kenyon College was missing something. He had auditioned for and joined the Chasers and the Chamber Singers, but still wanted an opportunity to explore his new-found faith in God.
Pat decided to form a group that would publicly present a contemporary a cappella Christian message. He contacted six other students to represent the core of what would eventually become the Cornerstones. They held auditions that spring, and incorporated for more into the group. At this point, they had everything but a name. After long debate, the group finally decided on two possibilities: "Richer Than Gold" and "The Cornerstones." In the words of one of the founding members, "Thank God we chose the latter." May 1998 saw the first Cornerstones concert, and established the Cornerstones in the Kenyon musical community.
Since then, many other members have joined and left the group, but we always welcome our alumni when they return for concerts. In November of 2001 the Cornerstones took our first major tour, traveling to member churches in Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. We now tour regularly over the beginning of Thanksgiving break.
